Acceptable Use Policy

Rules for using TrustBridge website and Services, including prohibited fraud, illegal activity, and abuse of Trust Passport or protected payments.

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") sets rules for using the TrustBridge website and Services. It helps protect buyers, sellers, TrustBridge, and our partners from abuse, fraud, and illegal activity. This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use TrustBridge.

Who we are

TrustBridge is trust infrastructure for social and informal commerce.

Internationally, TrustBridge Technologies Inc. (Canada) is the corporate entity. Nigerian operations are currently supported by TechBudds Ltd (RC 2019027).

Payment collection, holding pending release conditions, and payouts are intended to run through licensed payment partners. TrustBridge does not hold customer funds on its own books as a deposit taking institution.

Scope

This Policy applies to:

  • the public website at trustbridgeplatform.com
  • TrustBridge apps, dashboards, and buyer web flows when available
  • accounts, Trust Passport submissions, protected transactions, disputes, and support channels
  • any use of TrustBridge APIs, links, or materials we provide

Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information and keep it updated
  • Use TrustBridge only for lawful deals
  • Complete required verification for your role (basic account for buyers; Trust Passport for sellers creating protected transactions)
  • Honour deal terms you agree with the other party, subject to platform release and dispute rules
  • Keep login credentials secure and not share accounts
  • Cooperate reasonably with TrustBridge reviews, disputes, and partner investigations
  • Follow our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund & Dispute Resolution Policy

Prohibited: illegal or harmful activity

You may not use TrustBridge to:

  • Break applicable law, including fraud, theft, and money laundering
  • Finance terrorism or evade sanctions
  • Trade illegal goods or services
  • Exploit minors or distribute child sexual abuse material
  • Threaten, harass, or incite violence

Prohibited: fraud and platform abuse

You may not:

  • Misrepresent identity, business, or Trust Passport status
  • Submit false documents, selfies, references, or delivery proof
  • Create fake buyer or seller activity to manipulate trust signals
  • Use stolen payment methods or launder funds through protected transactions
  • Open disputes in bad faith or fabricate evidence
  • Attempt to force release or refunds outside platform rules

Prohibited: circumvention of controls

You may not:

  • Bypass identity, escrow, payment, or access controls
  • Use another person’s account or verification without authorisation
  • Scrape, harvest, or automate access except as we allow in writing or via robots.txt
  • Probe, scan, or attack our systems, partners, or other users
  • Introduce malware, spam, or harmful code

Restricted commercial uses

Unless we give prior written approval, you may not use TrustBridge for:

We may expand restricted categories to meet payment partner, bank, or legal requirements.

  • Weapons, ammunition, or illegal explosives
  • Illegal drugs or unlicensed controlled substances
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Adult sexual content or services where restricted by law or partner rules
  • Gambling or betting where restricted
  • Pyramid schemes, deceptive investment schemes, or unlawful crowdfunding

Misuse of TrustBridge brand and communications

You may not:

  • Impersonate TrustBridge, our staff, or our partners
  • Send phishing messages claiming to be TrustBridge
  • Use our name, logo, or links in a misleading way

Seller specific rules

Sellers creating protected transactions must:

  • Hold a complete Trust Passport before Create Escrow
  • Describe goods or services honestly
  • Deliver as agreed and within stated timelines where practicable
  • Not use TrustBridge to collect payment for deals they do not intend to fulfil

Buyer specific rules

Buyers funding protected transactions must:

  • Complete basic verification required in product
  • Fund only genuine purchases they intend to complete under platform rules
  • Not abuse inspection, dispute, or chargeback processes to obtain goods or services without payment

Enforcement

If we reasonably believe this Policy has been breached, we may take action such as:

We may act without prior notice where needed to reduce risk of fraud or harm.

  • Warning you
  • Requesting more information or re verification
  • Pausing releases or disputed transactions
  • Limiting features (for example Create Escrow)
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Reporting to payment partners, identity partners, or authorities where appropriate
  • Refusing future onboarding

Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse, fraud, phishing, or Policy breaches to hello@trustbridgeplatform.com with relevant links, references, and evidence.

Security vulnerabilities should be reported responsibly to hello@trustbridgeplatform.com until a dedicated security disclosure page is published.

Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy where permitted by law.
